Talinga-on-the-Bay is conveniently located in the beautiful coastal township of Penneshaw, on the sheltered north eastern corner of Kangaroo Island, and the Sealink ferry terminal to the Australian mainland.

Penneshaw is attractively situated at the foothills of the Dudley Peninsula, almost an island in itself, joined to the rest of Kangaroo Island by a narrow neck of land near Pelican Lagoon and Prospect Hill.

The Peninsula is gaining a reputation for it's locally grown and produced wines, and has long been known for it's spectacular coastal scenery and abundant wildlife. Little Penguins are found on the Penneshaw foreshore all year round, with a large breeding population present between March and December. Guided tours are available just walking distance from the house.

Spring has arrived on Kangaroo Island following one of our wettest winters in years. Wildflowers are prolific and massive quantities of fresh rainwater are cascading over the Billygoat Falls. Those areas of Kangaroo Island affected by the December 2007 bushfires are bounding back to life, with masses of grass tree flower spikes easily visible while driving.
